Poetry in Motion Exhibition

The P5 Gallery is currently showing a lively exhibition of poetry and art pieces entitled, ‘Poetry in Motion.’ Poets from the Northern Poets Society have been working with illustrators and artists to produce a unique collection of writing and art works covering a huge range of styles and subjects. Presented in partnership with MancSpirit, Greater Manchester’s Mental Wellbeing Charity, the exhibition is open on Friday 22nd July from 12.00 to 4.00 pm, Saturday 23rd July from 12.00 to 3.00  pm, Tuesday 26th July from 11.00 to 3.00 pm and Wednesday 27th July 12.00 to 4.00 pm.

Currently showing in the P5 Gallery is a fantastic exhibition from the students of Woodbridge College who have produced artworks with the help of their teacher Minty King. Ranging from ceramics, textiles, prints, drawings and paintings to encaustic pieces the exhibition is open on the times and dates as shown.

Poetry Platform for Bolton’s Creative Community

Bolton Station Community Partnership is delighted to announce the publication of its first poetry book – The Platform Anthology.

The competition was funded by Transport for Greater Manchester which has supported numerous Bolton station community projects over the last two years. Rail Officer Mark Angelucci said “TfGM is happy to support Bolton Station Community Partnership and its marvellous work involving the local community. We wish to thank all of the contributors for their efforts and look forward to seeing the winning works on display, where they can both inspire passengers and brighten up the platform approaches.”

Poets given a Platform

20th October 2020

Four Bolton-based poets will have their work displayed on the pillars of Bolton Railway Station in full view of the many thousands of daily passengers.

Emma Byron, Sally James, Ibby Ismail and John Keane will also have their poems included in a special anthology together with many others who entered the Bolton Station Community Partnership competition. The competition was judged by members of the Partnership, the University of Bolton and Live from Worktown.
