On Friday the 15th of August South East Lancashire Community Rail Partnership hosted a local food heritage talk in the Community Room on Platform 5 at Bolton Station. Titled ‘Fingers in Many Pies’, the talk was led by part-time Community Rail Officer Emily Oldfield and focused on the fascinating food history along our lines, complete with a complimentary local taster buffet for attendees.

Summer Fair at Bolton Station
South East Lancs CRP came together with partners Bolton Station Community Partnership and Northern to host a Summer Fair at Bolton Station on Platforms 4/5, taking place 11am-3pm on Saturday 9 August 2025.
The fair was an opportunity to celebrate community rail and share information with the public, along with a range of stalls such as arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, books and a tombola.

We are pleased to announce our latest exhibition in the P5 Gallery at Bolton Railway Station is ‘SCENE’, an ensemble sculpture by Laurence Davey, lecturer in Screenwriting at University of Greater Manchester. The sculpture is constructed from a selection of different woods including Sycamore, Birch, Holly, Apple, Cherry, Pine and Walnut. Standing on a black circular base which is eight feet wide, the tallest sculpture stands an impressive eleven feet high and towers towards the gallery ceiling.
